Nicely done...however when the author gains experience with either 23g or 25g vitrectomy...he will realize there is absolutely no reason to utilize 20g...there are zero advantages...and the risk of inadequate wound closure, leakage, choroidals, infection, etc remains...

I personally performed about 300 procedure with 25g vitrectomy and 20 with 23g.
The 20g sutureless sistem provides the same wound closure and absence of leakage of 25 and 23 systems if no better.
The specific advantages of 20g system are:
1)Lower costs
2)Faster procedure (higher flow and aspiration rate)
3)Minor flexibility of the instruments
4)Easier tecnique
Thanks for your comment

Hi, I have really bad floaters in both my eyes and I was wondering is it safe to get a vitrectomy to remove them? Have any of your patients had vision loss or any other problems after the surgery? Thanks.
I'm 19 by the way

Do you find any difficulty inserting curved or angled retinal scissors, or the DORC vertical cutting scissors. Is this the DORC gauge 20 system or the Grieshaber ones?

It is not possible to insert curved or angled scissors trough these trocars. We're waiting for new dedicated instruments.
This is the Synergetics 20 G System.
Thanks for your comment

¿It is possible to insert a Tano´s brush thru the 20G cannula -the brush is slighty curved-? ¿And the dual syringe for injecting perfluorocarbon liquids?
Thank you very much. Nice video
